Our yarn

Each product is only as good as the materials used to made it. We work hard to find the softest and most durable yarns and to make sure we are sourcing our yarns in a way that is both socially and environmentally responsible. Each yarn fiber has unique qualities and characteristics but the one characteristic that is the same for all Dinadi yarns is that all are 100% natural, no plastics found here!

MERINO

We use 100% extra fine merino wool in our merino products. We love the sustainable and natural functionality of merino wool. It is naturally insulating, breathable, wicking, dirt resistant and durable and at the same time 100% natural, renewable, biodegradable and recyclable. Therefore, merino wool is one of the best wool on the market today.

Our merino wool is sourced from merino sheep from South Africa. We are careful to ensure that our yarns are animal cruelty free and can guarantee that our merino is mulesing free. Our merino is Oeko-Tex 100 certified to be free of harmful chemicals.

YAK

Our yak products are made from 100% yak down. Yak down is a rare and luxurious fiber that is similar in softness and feel to cashmere. It is superior in warmth to many sheep wool fibers while similar in durability. Yak down is combed once a year from the yak’s winter coat and praised to be one of the most sustainable fibers available.

We partner with a social enterprise on the Tibetan Plateau that works closely with local yak herders to gather the fibers. In partnering with them we can ensure high traceability throughout our supply and production chain. Our yak is natural and undyed and comes in two colors, Oat Brown and Dark Brown.

CASHMERE

Cashmere is one of the most exclusive and luxurious fibres available. It is renown as one of the softest fibres on the planet and its combination of softness and light weight create a fibre that is both beautiful and functional.

Cashmere fibres come from the cashmere goat. Beneath the coarse hair of the cashmere goat lies an undercoat of superfine fibres that are combed out by hand once a year before being processed into yarn. Our cashmere originates from goats in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia.
